The Mad Dog Blues String Band

Innovative. Organic. Colorado‑born.

Mad Dog Friedman is an internationally known harmonica player, songwriter and Native American flute composer. He's a straight-ahead musical innovator who lets his heart do the talking.

The Mad Dog Blues String Band is his full on, acoustic roots outfit. The sound is Colorado to the bone: Delta blues grit, bluegrass bounce, honky‑tonk swagger, hokum jive and conversational acoustic jams are all woven into their root-centric, original sound. These are real people playing real music: songs with memorable hooks, honest lyrics, and a live energy that lands somewhere between a porch jam and a full‑blown revival. Labels fall short; if you need one, call it Colorado acoustic roots. If you want the truth, call it Mad Dog Blues.

The Mad Dog Blues String Band Lineup:

  • Mad Dog Friedman — harmonica & Native American flute
  • Jeff Becker — mandolin
  • Clark Chanslor — stand‑up bass
  • Sean Bennight — acoustic guitar
  • Mark Kaczorowski  — slide & acoustic guitar
